So, it would seem that my best blogging comes while I’m deployed, far too many distractions here in the States!
As you are all very well aware, I will be heading back to te sandbox no later than September.
I’ve already mentioned that I’m not all that phased by deployment, my wife is on the other hand is having a bit of difficulty, which makes me wonder how much I should be phased. I don’t worry about the dangers there, my wife worries about them though, so do I worry? Do I pretend to worry? Do I continue my endless reassurance that I’ll be fine?
That aside, one of my soldier’s went to the Soldier of the Month board and slam dunked it. Out of the 8 participants, he was the only one who wasn’t a combat Vet and wasn’t a Specialist (he’s a PFC), and he put them to shame…all of them. It does my heart good because it shows that I’ve been doing my job teaching him. My other soldier is preparing for the board next month, and I suspect he’ll do just as well as PFC Meatloaf did.
The final going on in my life tha I would like to shar eis that my wife and I are attempting to conceive! So hopefully I’ll have a little ToySoldier Jr. running around in 9+ months. We’ll see how it goes!
