(PART 1)

This is going to be a few pieces as I gather more information to share, for those of you who don’t catch my reference…I’m talking about the SOFA, or the Status of Forces Agreement in regards to US Troops and Iraq. It’s essentially an agreement that says we will abide by Iraqi law, and that our military domain has no true power in the country of Iraq. Sounds like a wonderful plan huh? Sounds like the Iraqi’s just don’t need us anymore, and that they can handle their own business! Right?

Not if you look into Mosul and Baqouba, reports coming out of those two areas paint a picture of the wild, wild west (again). As Terrorist Fighters attempt to assert their dominance and prove that they can handle the new Iraqi Government, we’re still fighting the fight there…not the Iraqi’s.

So what happens when they put us on the “SOFA”? When we can no longer openly engage enemy fighters without some drawn out process, where military vehicles that are prime targets for bombs are forced to stop at traffic lights and stop signs? It means more AMERICAN lives will be brought to a violent end, while everyone turns a blind eye and claims that Iraq is safe, that Iraq is independent, that Iraq is strong…and that those who died to defend the freedom there…well they weren’t really needed after all.

Keep posted, more to come.
